I Know A Man

I know a man who loves Jesus and is passionately in love with his wife.  I know a man who treasures his daughter and loves to spend time with his family.  I know a man who has a thriving career, who works in ministry and gives generously of his time and money.  I know a man who grew up in a solid home with a Mom and Dad who loved him, who went to college and has many close friends who care for him deeply.

I know a man who sees two faces when he looks in the mirror, who is full of pride and struggles with a current of anger that flows just below the surface.  I know a man who always wants to be “right” and who struggles when he is not in control.  I know a man who can easily “check out” when things are asked of him.  I know a man who is selfish and has struggled with addiction for 30 years, who has lied to cover his tracks and makes excuses to hide his guilt and shame.

I know a man who is tired of running, tired of posing and desperately wants to find his true self.

I know a man…and that man is me.

  1. …The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him. Romans 12:3 the Message
I pray that the awareness of sin in your life, brother, in contrast to the incredible Grace and already-applied forgiveness for those sins would give you insight…

    Grace and Peace, brother.
